Grounding kits on feeder lines: where do they go?

How many grounding kits do I install and where?

Follow the project’s grounding standard first. Many carriers refer to Motorola R56 and local code, and manufacturers publish kit instructions for each cable. Typical practice: - A kit near the top of the run, close to the antenna and before the cable turns. - A kit at the base of the tower, before the cable leaves the tower or goes horizontal. - For tall towers, an additional kit at intervals (many specs ask every 200 ft or similar) and one near the shelter entry port. - Kits connect to the tower steel or the ground bar with the lug and hardware in the instructions; clean bare metal and anti-oxidant compound where the manual calls for it. - Cut the jacket cleanly without nicking the outer conductor, and weatherproof the kit.
