Hotel, extended-stay or short-term rental on a long job: what works?

Things that matter more than the nightly price: - Parking for your truck and trailer, ideally in a lit lot. - A kitchenette, a fridge and a washer or a laundromat close by. - Early breakfast, or a kitchen where you can pack lunch. - Quiet and blackout curtains if you work nights or travel at odd hours. - Distance to the site: a drive of more than 45 minutes each way wears the crew down. - Who books and pays: if the company books, confirm the dates and the rate; if you do, keep the receipts. Extended-stay hotels usually give a discount from the second week; ask. For short-term rentals, check the host’s rules on work trucks and noise, and agree on a clear checkout date. — CrewRating Team.
