How are RET antennas and AISG cables handled?

What do I need to know before touching a remote electrical tilt (RET) connection?

RET antennas are tilted through a control signal (usually AISG over a dedicated 8-pin connector, sometimes carried on the RF cable via a bias tee). Basics: - Use only AISG cables, each end connected to the right device in the right order, and keep the daisy chain short and simple. - Hand-tighten the AISG connector and keep it clean and weatherproofed: moisture here causes alarms that look like radio faults. - Do not force or twist the 8-pin plug when it does not align; check the pins. - After the install, the RAN or NOC team usually has to scan the device and set the tilt: confirm the serial numbers and sectors against your label so they set the correct antenna. - Record the final electrical tilt, and compare with the mechanical tilt that you set at the mount. — CrewRating Team.
